So while I was gone, I have some questions I can't seem to figure out.
I've had the same dream for about ten years now, of this particular scenario. (What's up with dreamscapes that don't change much over the years?)
So, I figure I might as well start mapping out my dreamscapes. This one has been bugging me for a bit.
Atmosphere: Twilight-ish, rather dark, cloudy, sometimes rain.
Layout:
It's a large lot of land, square shaped. Woods, pasture, some dirt roads to access the various parts/paddocks. Fenced and cross-fenced. I have been working on securing the perimeter from predators, we've had problems with a pack of coyotes slipping through. (My dead livestock said that the predators can still kill them.) This time, I was happy to see my work of fence mending has been sticking. I noticed this time a large hole on the southwest corner of the outer most paddock was still holding. (On a side note, in real life I've been working on setting healthy bounderies), so cool.
There are several buildings and out buildings in various states of decay. On the south end of the property, there are two houses, side by side, one has a large tree that fell through the roof, I've been working on repairing it to make it habitable. In the meantime, I've resided on the house on the right.
There is a barn in the back, with various rooms, an attic I keep the chickens in, I've fixed it up so the live animals can stay safe there, I store the feed there too.(I have dead animals, and live animals in my dreamscape) There are several rooms in the barn, I keep my goats, and sheep in their own stalls. The chickens have their own roost, access to feed, and range.
There are three out buildings on the far right side(east) of the property, they are a laundry building, out buildings, one where my dead pets stay, as the dead and living do not mix.
In the far north side of the property there is a delapitaded chicken coop it's called the outpost. There is a two lane road a bit from the coop, usually I stay away from the road, as I was told if I try to cross it, a car will run me over and I will die. (Final destination style, walking across a seeeminly abandoned road, then BAM, I get hit, roll on the road, and die).
So to the dream, I had saw a alter in the shower that night, I saw my shadow, but it was shorter than I and had a hairstyle from when I was 11yo. I was just like okay, so I got ready for bed. Around 3am, I was woken up from the shower knobs squeeking, they had the exact pitch of an animal crying for help. So for about an hour, I heard the squeeking sound, fast, slow, drawn out, it was really hard to ignore it and fall into a deep sleep like I wanted and it was permeating my dream. So I was in this semi-dream state for about an hour of shower squeeks, then when that stopped the toilet started to flush and fill, over and over again for about half an hour.

So in the dream: I was mostly in the house on the right, and then the coop in the north.
So it starts with the shower knob squeeking in the waking world, I fall asleep and hear the squeeking sounds. I followed the squeeking sound, as a wandered around the livable house. As I got closer to the squeeking sound, I could hear the screams of animals dying. So I got closer, the screams got louder, the girls was screaming at me that I forgot the pets, and they were dying of starvation. We got into a bit, but anyway, when I got to the screams, it was a new room, the door swung open and I saw my pet parrotlets(I haven't owned them in several years). There were 7 or 8 parrotlets total, in various stages of death and decay. Two were alive screaming, one blue on green, a boy and girl. I rushed out to get them food, brought it back, I filled up their water dishes and apologized. I didn't know I had parrotlets still. I didn't know they existed. They said I forgot about the chickens in the trailer outpost coop like structure. That they were dying.
I rushed to the coop, and when inside,it's a rather defunct coop, cages at waistlevel, stacked two cages high, rectangular in shape, an isle in the center. I saw chickens in various stages of decay. I remember being here before and had thought I moved all the survivors to the barn where I set up a roost in the attic of the barn, feeder and a door that the chickens can use to free range come to roost at will. I found a silkie chicken, like a dark buff color, amongst the bodies and rubble of bones.
I was surprise at the buffish silkie as the ones that represent death to me are the white ones. They warned me to stay away from the road again, and I woke up.
Okay, so I get the fenceline means boundaries. I'm thinking predators are my family members that cross my boundaries. But the other stuff??
