Random twitching, hard breathing and such

Postby NicS » Sun Dec 18, 2011 5:43 am

Does anybody else here just, at some random moment, feel like screaming your ######6 head off for no ######6 reason? Or just have a mini-panic attack out of ######6 nowhere? Any help on stopping it ahead of time? Thanks.

I get those. When I feel it coming on I change whatever I can. Leave the room, turn the radio station, go for a walk, tap my fingers, jump in the shower. If I'm in the car when it happens, I change the station, sing along really loud to the next song that I can find that I sort of know (as long as I'm alone) or I turn the radio off and point out something along side the road (if I'm not alone).

I tend to think it is related to some sort of trigger that I'm unaware of and so try to remove all possible triggers and find something to focus on before I have a meltdown.

Typically just leaving the room helps. If I still have those feelings after I leave the room, I find something to distract myself- go to the bathroom, get a drink, check my cellphone- normal seeming things so if anyone is around and notices me just suddenly leaving, it looks like I had a reason for it.
