well there is some internal and external argument about your question.:-

1-before I started therapy we all thought that we were different people. I (the host) thought I had some devils in my head.
2-my T keeps on explaining that we are all parts of the same person and most us agree

--------------- may trigger---------------
3-our internal adviser keeps saying we're are all one person. he reacts when the word 'we' is used and says stuff like "they (the other alters) are not real, they exist because you (me) believe they do. you started to believe that because you needed to at some point in your life."
he asked our T several about this and she partially agreed, which made a bit stronger.
---------------end of trigger----------------

I can't answer for all of Rachel's alters, of course, but the way I usually see it, the answer is 'Sort of'. There are alters that have obvious similarities to the core, but it's not as simple as all being one person. I know everyone stems from the same place, but some of them have been split so long, I don't know that integration is really a logical choice. Tonie split off when she was two, Jeremy and Joe when she was four. They've lived as their own people for 18 and 16 years, respectively.

So, the way I see it, they all are technically one person, but they differ in how much they've developed separately. The question really comes down to, what makes someone an individual? They all have different personalities and traits, and separate thoughts and memories. They're one person, but they are also each individuals.
SO of a DID System. <3
