alters can age, they can temporarily change ages, or they can be age sliders, who can constantly change age, usually between a certain range.

some examples. a little of ours can go between 3 and 5 years old. she's almost always 5.

i aged up to 17, and didn't like it, so returned to my original age.

our host, and several other alters, age with the body.

another little goes up roughly one year in age every two years we're alive.

Little Sophie changes age. She goes from 5 to old enough to engage in sexual activity. It depends entirely on her emotional state.

I talked to my T about this today, how I'm not sure if C is an age slider or more than one alter or smoe combination thereof. She seemed to think that I meant that C had multiple personalities of her own. Is that possible? Personalities within personalities?

That's not at all what I meant, but she did propose that perhaps C acts younger when she feels more traumatized. I'm not sure. C looks physically different at times - younger and the markings on her body are darker in color (like a scar when it's fresh and new versus an older scar that has faded somewhat) and smaller or older, bigger and with markings that are still dark but not nearly as dark. I'll keep talking to C.
We're not invited.

Mine are the age of the time of traumas... that is all I know about them. Ive just begun to get an understanding of confusion about different alters and their rolls. I have the most basic understanding of such things...

Kiddo has the ability to shift between ages ten, twelve, and fourteen. It seems to depend on his mood in a given day and how serious a situation is. He was fourteen when I first met him, then he decided to be twelve for a few months, then he decided to be ten for a few months, and now he's gone back to being fourteen in his mental form with the personality of his twelve year old self. He's pretty complex, if I do say so myself. In general Kiddo's memories, no matter how old he is, go from age nine to age sixteen, but leave off where Johnny's pick up.

Jack was eighteen when I met him. He didn't age on Johann's birthday, but suddenly when HIM appeared at the end of October and told me he was twenty-four, Jack insisted he was twenty-four too. When I asked why, he just told me 'because'. Probably because Jack was a split of HIM at one point, and wants to be the same age as him.

Johnny was sixteen when I met him, because Kiddo is a younger split of him. Thus Kiddo was fourteen and his memories went up to sixteen, Johnny was sixteen and his memories went up to eighteen, and Jack was eighteen and his memories went up to the physical body's age (twenty-four). When Jack turned twenty-four, Johnny turned eighteen, Jack's prior age. Probably to make the split of ages between the three of them more even again.

Jack and Johnny also have the ability to turn into children for a short period of time if they choose or if I ask them (they tell me to ask if I ever want to see it, I haven't asked either of them in a long time). Somehow Johnny manages to do so, even younger than Kiddo, without merging with him because even as a kid Johnny doesn't have the same personality as Kiddo.

Luke also has the ability to turn into a kid, because I asked him one night if he could show me what he was like as a child shortly before he went dormant. Unfortunately, Luke is more unstable as his six year old self because he temporarily lost co-consciousness with the others, and tried to pick a fight with me because that's all he remembered doing at that age. Eventually Jack had to 'put him to sleep' and turn him back into his normal self. Needless to say, I don't think we'll be doing that again unless Luke learns how to do it the way Jack and Johnny do...

I think it's possible. Many of my alters are splits of other alters, rather then the original.

Another possibility (possibly the one you meant) is that a group of alters are all being C.
