"the body" alter

Postby Johnny-Jack » Sun Nov 13, 2011 5:32 pm

My gatekeeper tends to talk about the body almost as a thirteenth alter. He confirms now that it is here as an independent entity but is not any of us and is not an alter per se. He reads what the body does, how it acts in certain situations, and he interprets it for me. It seems to be a separate entity from any of the alters, although Jack somehow "tapped in" to the body in a way none of the rest of us ever did. He has some pre-eminence because of that and I keep getting an image of him, holding on to Adam, being the supernova into which we are to collapse. Jack is confused and suitably humble about whatever this may mean. I recently wrote a poem about how my body seems to be calling out to me. It may be instinct, it may be a future combined personality, it may be our collective hopes and desires, the inner wisdom, I don't know. This wouldn't be a current alter and it certainly doesn't have a personality the way the rest of us do though it does seem to have its own rules and its own desires.

Does anyone have an alter who is identified as the body, your body, or anything like that? Does anyone have an alter or alters who are generally agreed to be more natural to or aligned with the body? Does any of this ring a bell to anybody?

That makes alot of sense.
Little me is more aligned to the body from what I get, she was suppose to be the adult, but things turned out differently. I think she one of the only ones not scared of integration. DH says she's the 'fun' one. lol.
Host 1(M), Host 2(F), Host 3(Neither M/F), Doubt(F), Charlie(M), Li'l(F), and more.

Some of us identify with the body as it appeared during certain stages of childhood and adolescence. The non-corporeal ones took over at about 13, so only a few of us identify with the body as it appears now.

But it's not always an either/or kind of thing. I think each of us has a different way of relating to the body, identifying with it, or grudgingly accepting that it's here to stay. I think of it as my (sometimes) trusty steed. One of us calls it "the beast" and sees it as an obstacle to overcome. Another one sees it as a lost lover.

One identifies only with the body, and he's been out of commission for a long time.

there's One.
One inside is an infant.
One is also functional as the Autopilot.
One can physically function in necessary duties.
One is often activated as the "stenographer" when more are present and speaking.
One is non-verbal.
One is the body, but separate, and not the Owner of it.

Last time after Johann and I had had an argument (yes, we act like an old married couple, haha) I asked him, 'Which one of you comes out when we're arguing?' in response, Yohann told me, 'None of us. You're talking to the body. There aren't separate minds, you're talking to everyone as one, the way we SHOULD be if we weren't crazy.'

Yohann proceeded to explain that when they feel upset or stressed enough there is nothing dividing one alter from another. It isn't quite blending, and there is no one conscious thought - it's like the body is on autopilot.

Generally Yohann (the current host) is the most directly connected to the body. It's Yohann's voice that comes out during those times of 'only one person'. But sometimes it's also Luke's voice or mannerisms. Yohann and Luke (the host and the core) are obviously the most connected to the body, and believe it to be theirs. As opposed to the others who do not consider themselves to be Johann - HIM, Jack, or Johnny. Kiddo considers himself to be Johann when he was thirteen despite being Johnny's other half (in other words, he thinks the body was his at one point even though he was never host), and Chibi was host when Johann was his age, so he also believes the body to be his. To be honest, Kiddo is the only alter other than the host and core who seems to have no problems with the physical body (because it's almost twice his age and he doesn't tend to notice).

I am still learning but Azel does refer to the body as a seperate being.

I am still getting use to talking about the things Azel tells me but I know the rest of you have people like this so you understand.

from Azel: The body is a part, currently one of four. In a human with a healthy upbringing, soul and body become one until death. In a human with a poor upbringing, there are four parts. We should have been one, but as it were I had no choice but to make us four.

One is body- it is what we need to experience human life. Two is seed- true self hidden away. Three is the others, including you. There are many but you make one. Four is me.

Now that the abuse has ended, healing can begin. We can bring all four into one again and finish this life as a whole.
