Well I wish I could say that it lasted but alas... not so much! I remember what it was like coming out of my depressive episode in April, and that was definitely huge. But this was different. It wasn't my mood that was changing, just my overall awareness. I mean, I guess in a sense my mood did kind of go up the same way your mood goes up when you are at the circus watching the unreal. But...I definitely don't think I've been depressed since April. Very sad sometimes, but not depressed.

Today was pretty wierd though, I do have to admit. Some stuff I am unsure of whether it was today or yesterday, not to mention the 9 hours at work went by EXTREMELY fast...it seems a little foggier than usual.

Well, for me coming out of depression does involved suddenly increased awareness in all my senses. This increased awareness is an aspect of increased arousal of the autonomic nervous system. Both hypoarousal and hyperarousal are common in trauma survivors, and are very important features of PTSD.

An expert on this is Peter Levine, and his book about it is Waking the Tiger: Healing Trauma.
