I thought DID was supposed to be rare. How can you tell that so many people have it?
Anyway, I don't have any form of DID-dar. I can't even tell if I have it much less others. My gaydar and all other "dars" is also subpar. Frankly I'm as intuitive as I am observant. (Not at all!)

Generally a rare disorder affects less than 1 in 2000 people, or 0.05%. DID is not rare. Some large population studies estimate clinical DID between 1-2%. That is 1 in 100 to 1 in 50. Here is a review:
