Thoughts

Postby 555 » Fri Jun 10, 2011 5:13 pm

How do you stop them? I ended up going to sleep so late last night because my head was in like...extreme fast mode! There were all kinds of thoughts rushing forward and it just felt so loud and cramped, more than half those thoughts weren't mine. How do you stop that happening? It was so so distracting, and I can't even remember a lot of what the thoughts were..
ugh
._.

Try listening to music, and try not to push away those thoughts so hard.
The harder you try, the more thoughts will come.
Try not to do anything exciting before bedtime, sometimes it takes people a while to wind down.
I found that listening to specific music put all my attention on the music and tended to help
quiet my head a bit. Meditation helps, too.

Oh, I didn't think of that. And yeah, I noticed. I kept trying to annoy them and they kept coming even more.
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely try that!

listen to the music, loads of it. What i do is that I make a playlist for each alter, and when they want to take over, I put on their playlist, or when they need to calm down, or something. Also, you should try writing down all your and their thoughts on paper, with a key for each alter.

no quotations for host
one for first alter
two for second

So on so forth. It might help a little. =/

Music and writing thoughts down definitely help. Giving them the opportunity to express themselves and speak through journalling helps you communicate with them better, as well as gives you a bit of a relief from the constant noise.

Also, I try to encourage my alters to draw and do more artistic things as well, because sometimes it gives them the chance to get out a lot of thoughts at once. Normally after they're done, they're relatively quiet for a while. Plus, sometimes they produce some really interesting work. :)

Mindless things, like watching cartoons or playing video games, can also help. It occupies your mind just enough sometimes for them to be a bit calmer.

Hope this helps a little :)
