This was very fun. We are about to see a new therapist on Wednesday but are unsure whether she supports the diagnosis of MPD (DID).

Our score is 92, but that is because we are being honest. Our little and antagonist do not support seeing a Doctor but as we have no otherway to help the host we must comply.

As of now there are 8 of us including host and we have been switching a lot today due to the stress of coming to the realization that we may be different. This test will be a good thing to mention in order to increase efficiency of treating our host.

Hi, I scored 75, but dont have DID. Never been diagnosed. I have schizoaffective disorder.

Should I be concerned in any way? I suspected DID for many reasons, and some that conflict with my current disorder.

Wow, I never knew about that test before. I got a 77.

We don't lose a lot of time cause we tend to travel in pairs and share a lot of memory, but some surprises still seem to mean memory is "out of the ordinary" for us anyway.

I found the questions difficult to answer especially things like "some people have been told they don't recognize people". Nobody tells me, because as soon as the person speaks I recognize the voice, and when I see the face I (one of us, anyway!) know that I know this person just don't know who it is. So my initial lack of recognition is almost completely covered up. Also the scoring is hard because it's so subjective. To me "always" means 100% of the time, so unless a symptom was permanent I wouldn't score it "always". What is the difference between "sometimes" and "almost always"? I find that really hard to tell. Between the (probable) DID, the (probable) Bipolar and the fact I've spent most of my life dissociated, I barely know what "normal" is anyway, so I find it hard to tell what is symptoms, because it all feels normal to me! I think it's a useful test as it at least gives some indication, but I also think it's very confusing. X

With better awareness of my dissociative experiences I scored 65. X

Hi, and welcome to this DID forum. With that high a score on the DES, I would request a consultation with a therapist who has experience diagnosing DID, specifically to get a differential diagnosis. Has anyone who worked with you before ever really examined the question do you have a psychotic type disorder (schizoaffective or other) or a dissociative disorder? It makes a big difference, because DID responds to psychotherapy but schizo disorders do not; schizo disorders respond to medication but DID does not.

Others here have had good results taking a printout of their completed DES and score to their mental health care team. This tends to focus attention on the question of diagnosis.

Good question, because I used to see a lot of therapists and was in a good amount of hospitals when I was under 18 which was when I got diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder (at 15). I'll never forget telling them all, at that time, that I sometimes feel like I am not here. That sometimes I don't or can't remember periods of time and they never allowed me to talk about it. I would actually say that (sometimes numerous times to the same therapists) and they just flew right over that. Thank you for responding to my question, btw.

Una
I took the test about a week ago when I was in a funk and got a 71.Took it today and got a 70. :|
I'm a little foggy today but still on the upside so will not let this bring me down.
Got to come to terms with it,it is what it is and move on.
One other note off topic. I am sorry I have not been posting to the topics. I've been very busy.I am reading the topics put up when I have a few minutes. They are helping me to make another list for the next barbwire cage match with my therapist.
I do wish all the best and warmest regards to all. We wish we had more time and a lot more answers that could help others.
Grace and Peace

When I first stumbled on this site here, I think it was you Una+ who suggested to do this test and I got a 35 or 36. I'm still around, just redoing and got a 40. I still think DID or something similar might be part of me, just not sure yet. Somethings have escalated, like the feeling of sitting beside myself or not remembering if I did something, or where i put something. My mind used to be gold for these things, remembering everything. But how much of this is getting old, lol. Not sure, but my recall is certainly warped at the moment. Maybe my selves aren't using the wipe board in the common space to communicate information, lol.
