http://counsellingresource.com/lib/quiz ... tests/des/The cut-off for prompting further assessment for DID is 30. Although only 17% of
therapy clients who score over 30 have DID, most people who have DID do score over 30. That means a score below 30 is almost enough to rule out DID but a score over 30 only calls for further assessment.
Colin Ross has published a very detailed analysis of the DES here:

27. But I was surprised I scored that high.

I scored a 57. I remember taking this test in the past and getting a lower score (30 something), but that was before I started paying more attention to the strange things that often happen to me, and before my therapist started helping me open up communication and discover how I can actually use the system to my advantage, say if I were really nervous in a certain situation and needed the comfort and support of an alter. Since the beginning of my noticing these things every now and then, they have really picked up, and become a part of my daily life. So, I guess maybe that's why my score was higher this time.

I honestly thought my score was low, but after reading some other peoples scores I'm seriously worried.
I scored 82 on my first test about three months ago and took another and it's lowered to 76.
I don't know what to do...
I haven't told anyone about DID, and it's had me stressed for some period of time, can anyone suggest a course of action I should take?

Did it once by myself; scored in the 40s.
Did it co-present; scored 60.

I just took the DES and scored 61. When I took it at the psych evaluation back in June '15, I scored 48. I was not expecting to get a score that high. But seeing others' scores, I see the score can change over time. Thanks for posting the links! This is a very useful tool.

84 Shocking honestly, thought We would have scored much lower, in the 40's maybe? Question accuracy, but give a good general idea.

Red Text took the test before (cause our doctor told her to.) And she got a 43.. At least, I think so. dx. (She wrote it down in a notebook so we won't forget. Later on, I didn't understand why the random number was there. dx. So Saul told me it was a DES score. Still unsure if it really was that or something else..)
I decided to take the test, cause we haven't answer it in a while. dx Took the test again today, and I got an 82... Wow. I wasn't expecting it to be so high lol.
Is it because scores vary between alters? Or maybe cause we know more about ourselves now?
