Re: Dissociative Experiences Scale

I can't remember the last time I took this and what I got, but today I have revisited it and got a 64. That feels quite high to me, but unfortunately it makes sense because I was finding myself highly resonating with a lot of the questions.

I was very interested in this question, though.

"Some people sometimes find that in certain situations they are able to do things with amazing ease and spontaneity that would usually be difficult for them (for example, sports, work, social situations, etc.)."

This EXACT thing has been a cornerstone of confusion for my entire life. I have literally sought therapy for this specific reason. I know for 100% fact that I have crippling social anxiety (That at one point made me homebound for 2 years), yet somehow I would be able to function completely normally at seemingly random times? This has caused so much frustration and self-hate because I couldn't understand why.

I did not know this was or could be related to dissociation symptoms. I have felt like such a fraud many times because when I try to tell therapists my struggle with things, I have to then go on and say, "but it doesn't happen all the time and I'm not sure why."

i just did this and scored 25. but my experiences with variations of dissociation and alters differs from the questions they ask, so i don't find it really that accurate or relevant to my case.

Been a while since I've taken this... thought I'd take it again in the light of noticing more things about myself, and got a 42, which is up from the first time I took it.

30. Just there. :|

Ps: Do your answers change depending on which alter answers the questionnaire?

Okay, now that I answered according to the directions, we got 24. I guess dissociation isn't something we expetience much, but we are certainly a large, complex system with highly defined alters. 0.o
