Hi,
Question, There is an Alter in my Gf system that is trying to take over, they want to be out all the time, and there geting stronger and somehow making the others weaker. They, Vie, is trying to weaken the two main host, and I have been told that if they "go away" then everone will fallow b/c of how there linked. I have tryed calling for there Helpers, the one's that keep things in check, but there to bussy, this vie girl has been thinking really head about sending them around and I have been told that there to bussy looking in on everone else to make sure there okay b/c they "feel" something might be wrong that they don't even know what's going on. This vie told me she's going to make the two main host weaker and that will make everone else weaker, and in the end will make the helpers weaker and unable to stop her. Any ideas on how to stop this power strougle and protect those on the inside.

the only thing i know of that could help is drugs...
im sorry i cant be of more help, but in your case you should see a shrink who can help you to search for an answer, and he can prescribe the drugs you would need to keep the alters down..

Trinity,
I was wondering how things were going for you and your GF.
On the subject of meds.... While there is no med that can control DID there are meds that can greatly help the attitude, mindset..etc. It might be well worth looking into.
When I was at my worst with DID I was also undr the care of a psychiatrist. ...and it was a help to me.
Now about the alter take-over. I have had this try to happen to me years back...and I have talked with one other person with DID that is recently gone through somethig similar to what you are describing.
If your GF has a strong enough desire...she herself can fight to keep this from happening. I had a similar situation on several occasions. On those times I was able , with the help of my therapist, to stop this take-over.
If the worst case scenario is what happens...all is not lost. Youg GF will still be there..I believe...but in a dormant type of being.
Please try and be encouraged that no matter what happens...a system can change and those in power now....well that can change. It would be best if your GF knew about all of this if she doesn't already know.
Kathy

I discovered something about my alters. They want to do what they want when they feel as though they a reason for doing it.
Me and all of my alters got along very well. When one wanted to go their way independents was given to them. If they screw up let them know in a reasoning manner. Possibly your primary alter will step in and set them straight for you. This has always happened with me.
You, the host, don't ever yell or scold your alters. Only complain to them if you believe they might have done something wrong. If they were correct in what they had done they will tell you so. But if you know they were wrong then mediate with them or maybe your primary alter will do it for you.
You must make friends with your alter(s). Just cave into them first and say that your sorry. At first they might tell you to take a hike or whatever, but don't let it stop you. Be humble! Once you begin to get along next you will find that your friendship will become stronger and stronger. That's how it works for me.
Your alter(s) is a survival partner. If you keep going against what it wants (independents at times) it will turn on you. Alters are stubborn and they won't give up. But once you get along with each other and begin to share knowledge things will become creative and adventurous.
I actually miss all of my alters. I haven't heard from them for some time now. Probably because I'm in the healing stages?
