Confused

I was told to post in this forum when I posted in a diff one. I have been reading posts in here and trying to find out if this is possibly what my label might be. But I need some help. I know you all are not docs but I want opinions please...

ok so it was just today that me and my alter starting communicating. it was through this forums. I ahve been learning about her and this is what I know...Her name is Norma. She is 10 years old. She is angry but also hurt. She is wounded. She gives me nightmares at night...thats how I know she is there. Umm...kind of confusing but I got sexually abused at 10yrs old and well...Norma takes on the feelings and hurts of that. I have tried to leave Norma because I dont like and cant handle the pain, emotions, and memories of what happened. but she wont go. She told me tonight she just wants to be my friend. She is mad that I am now 14 and have growed up without her....that might be why she gives me nightmares.

But this is the thing...I don't turn into her. Like she does not take over my body. Like does things without me doing them...she doesn't have that type of control. Is that how an alter could be or should I be posting in a different forum??

Some alters will take over without you knowing it happened (like you lose consciousness when they take over), others can take over but you can watch while they are controlling the body, and some can't take control at all.

And sometimes they will start out in one of those categories and move to another one.

So, it could be any of those... still an alter

I have many alters that can't take over my body.

Norma gave indication in her first post that she'd been out without you. That's pretty typical of an alter.
