If it's too hard to say it, try writing it all out, let empty all of yourself into pen and paper. And then give it to him to read. Probably best on your way out "Oh by the way, I'd like you to read this".

I agree with writing it. I've written so many things down for my therapist and then torn those things up because I didn't know if she would be willing to read them (my past therapist refused to and made me read them), but when I finally got up the nerve to ask if she would be willing to read something I'd brought with me, because I didn't feel like I could say it out loud, she said, "Sure!" and held out her hand for our journal. She didn't mind one bit. And any therapist who is worth seeing will be glad to read stuff if you're more comfortable with that in certain instances. Good luck! :)

Death of the self in a long, tearless night,
All natural shapes blazing unnatural light.

Dark, dark my light, and darker my desire.
My soul, like some heat-maddened summer fly,
Keeps buzzing at the sill. Which I is I?"
