You need to find a psychologist that specializes in dissociative disorders. Please note I said PSYCHOLOGIST and not psychiatrist! Yes, there IS a difference. A psychologist is someone who is going to work with you, and talk to you. A psychiatrist is nothing but a pill doctor. There is no medication for this. Anyone who says there is is full of $#%^.

Thank you. I dont trust them but I am looking for help, I just got out of jail and lost everything I own because my boyfriend took off to Florida. I am rebuilding as good as I can, but I need to deal with my "others" so I don't have this happen again.

I don't even remember breakfast, so I totally feel ya. Can you communicate with your alters and ask that they only come out at certain times? And when you are triggered and switch without warning, it's important to ground yourself first then try to reflect on who was out, what triggered you, etc. The more triggers you recognize, the more control you have over them and in turn the more control you'll have over switching.
