I would encourage her to reach out to the online DID community... she will get lots of support that way.
There is some support for SOs too. I'm sorry I don't have the presence of mind to dig them up right now.
but try googling A Mind's Journey and Mosaic Mind. it takes a bit of time to jump through the registration hopes, but both look good.
