anyone else seen this?

Postby chibixal » Mon Mar 22, 2010 3:32 pm

heyyyy im back everyone, im doing well, still happily married, just been too busy workin to drop by here.

so anyways i saw an advertisement on the internet for a new show, the 2nd season just premiered on showtime last week, its called ''The United States of Tara'' its about a married woman with two teenage kids and she has D.I.D. I was excited to finally see a tv show about this so i found a place to watch the first season streaming on the internet because sadly i do not have showtime. I was wondering if anyone has watched it yet, any fans of it, or if you haven't seen it omg you should watch it because it is great. i feel like i can relate to it so much and it is a comedy so it does lighten up the mood, but is also pretty realistic for a tv show portraying such a misunderstood topic. i am a huge fan of the show now and i hope they release it on dvd because i want to buy it so bad. if any of you dont know she has three main alters, a crazy teenage girl who is rebellious, a war vet who got his manhood blown off in nam, and a perky 50's house wife.

We've seen the first season on the net as well. Someone usually posts them on YouTube as they air on Showtime.

We like it, but think it could still give people a very "blown out of proportion" idea of DID. But we understand that if the show didn't do that it wouldn't last.

I know the first season is on DVD at Target and Amazon. Don't know about other stores though.

Death of the self in a long, tearless night,
All natural shapes blazing unnatural light.

Dark, dark my light, and darker my desire.
My soul, like some heat-maddened summer fly,
Keeps buzzing at the sill. Which I is I?"

just purchased the dvd season one set from walmart.com, i cant wait to go pick it up.

yes they do over dramatize the show a lot and its must be for ratings, none of my alters are that insane lol after watching it i was like thankyouthankyouthankyou everyone for not being as insane as those alters on the show.

apparently my husband asked jay if he got his manhood blown off in nam as well lol

laughs all around tho, i very much enjoy it no matter who out of proportion it is.

Ack, I don't consider manhood "humor" humor at all. Completely unfunny and uncomfortable. If a writer handed me THAT in a script, I'd smack her with the script.

That sounds awesome. Reminds me of Nikki Sanders from Heroes, but without the 'Psycho' elements. Although I still thought Nikki was one of the best multiples to come out of a show not based on psychology.
