Hi everyone,
My name is Blaire.I am an alter connected in a unique way with Steve as part of the core (host) personality. My body is male and my body's chronological age is 39. I had been diagnosed with DID about 3 years ago. I have 143 other alters. I have co-consciousness with about twelve - 15 alters. I'm so new to this and I became disabled as a result of DID. I also have bipolar, agorophobia, and a whole other list of things from our local DSM V.
My family doesn't know that I have DID. MY DID began as a result of abuse which started at the age of 4. My family does not believe I was abused. I was not aware of my DID till I begun having pseudo-seizures about three years. I live in a small suburban town in New Jersey where I am an hour away from Philly and 2 hrs away from NYC.
I look forward to meeting all of you and getting to know you. I hope that we can be a source of support for each other.
Cheers,
Blaire & Company

Hi Blaire,
Your name is rather odd to me because it's not used much over here in the UK and Ireland. i think that it's very nice though. Anyway, were you ever diagnosed with DID?; and where have you written down about each of your 143 alters? I find it absolutely incredible that you have this many, as most people here have 2 or 3 as far as I can see.

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for responding to our post. Yes, we were diagnosed about 3.5 years ago by a therapist who is part of the group ISSTD(spelling and memory both need work). I was diagnosed across the pond in the US. In Milwaukee, Wisconsin to be more exact. This therapist I had is one of two therapists in that whole state that was & is qualified to diagnose DID & work with those of us multiples. I have had three different tests to confirm my DID diagnosis.
No I am not co-conscious with all of the other alters. Someone from another group says that I might be poly-fragmented. Her explanation of this means that alters creating other alters. I am not sure if this treads water or not. There are some of the alters who take on the traits of the abuser and for safety reasons have them locked away. These are rather quite self-destructive and so we have them locked away, so they can't cause harm to the rest of the system. Rather, I have fragments of how each believes, perceives, acts, feels.I have been able to communicate with some of them. Some don''t speak or only speak with other alters. So communication is rather limited between the other alters (as I refer to them, collectively, 'and company') and myself.
Sorry to be a bit of a long winded chap.
Cheers,
Blaire

Hi Blaire. Welcome.
There are around 40 of us in my system as far as I know and I know there are a lot I'm not aware of yet, so please don't be discouraged by anyone who doesn't seem to accept that large systems exist. There's no "norm" for the number of people in a system.
Feel free to write here as often as you all need.

Death of the self in a long, tearless night,
All natural shapes blazing unnatural light.
Dark, dark my light, and darker my desire.
My soul, like some heat-maddened summer fly,
Keeps buzzing at the sill. Which I is I?"

Is it possible that some of those are the same person, but they grow and change and don't act like the same person? Or some of them have BPD? Sorry, I know next to nothing about DID, it's just. . .wow. For you to even know about all those, you must be cycling through them pretty damn fast.
Welcome to the forums.

Welcome welcome! You definitely get the Biggest System Award on the DID forum, can't recall anyone with that large of a system!
Also nice to be joined by a fellow New Jersian!
Is Steve the original personality?
