Hello everyone. We are irishsunrise24 and are happy to be here. We had a very stressful week where we went through sudden triggered alter switching and very rapid cycling of alters. It's been hard to find a support group where we live so we are here to find some comradery and support. Currently we are aware of eight distinct alters with names but more that are from the internal world and do not come forward or interact with the outside world. For anonymity we will abbreviate the names to first initials only. It's nice to meet all of you.

Thank you for the warm welcome. Since posting we have gone back to saying me for the moment because the main alter (i.e. the one in the driver's seat) has come forward again and resumed a pseudo normative existence. She/me is known as K. It's so confusing and exhausting to keep up with it all. How does everyone deal with theirs? Any advice is appreciated ☺️

What is communication like between you all? can you leave messages for those that find themself at the front? If they aren't ones that want to front or do anything in the outside world can you work out what triggered them all to be keep switching out?

Sorry we didn't welcome you all when you arrived, but hello. I'm Violette, the host of the Theta System. As for how we keep track of things, part of that is just communication, grounding and journaling. We actually have two journals with one keeping track of our system and alters and one keeping various alter's thoughs.
Hope that helped a bit.

Hello there,
Thanks for the welcome. We apologize for the disorganized posting but we've been rapid cycling the last day or two and it's been exhausting. Our host body has been in a lot of pain (Sjögren's syndrome) and it possibly triggers some of the switching. We are the K system and presently K our primary fronting identity is the one who takes care of daily tasks and holds down the job. She is co-conscious with KK who is the alter who fronted for most of twenty-five years. These two have dialog back and forth internally then K is usually the one fronting while taking on the daily stuff. K8 is the gatekeeper and she is always in the background giving her opinion on everything. She communicates internally and never comes to the front (except the one time she posted here). We have our little K who is six and she is always with inner mom because mom protects her and keeps her from running away. We also have KT (me) who is about seventeeñ and the one fronting this morning. Then we have inner dad who is both protector/persecutor and a very angry man. Recently we had a new male alter get pushed to the front. His name is Tex and he is a middle aged (60s) man with a mustache and a cowboy hat (we have no idea why or where he came from or what his function is) after that we have several other as yet unnamed identity states lurking in the back not really saying or doing anything but are often very active in the inner world. Our method of communication is mostly internal and very chaotic since we are still working out our system. I'm sorry if this post is long but I had to explain it a bit better than the others. I hope this helps.

Getting to know one's system is always confusing! And rapid switching is confusing too! Been there, done that.
It eases up with time. What helped me most are the books "Healing the fragmented selves of trauma survivors" and "Coping with trauma related dissociation" but there are tons of other ressources, do not hesitate to look at them all to see which one(s) are the best for you at the moment.
