New to DID

Postby blacksheepgirl » Sat Oct 28, 2023 11:28 am

Been going on since 5/22, and few times i know somebody must've been out before that. once in highschool and 2 times in 2014. Maybe once last year? It just happened. How do I let them go ut if they want to. Idk am i not relaxed enough, or something. I notice I have sometimes Dizziness, and other symptoms or whatever like .. i can't think how to explain it i just know. :o but i need help. I met some of them yesterday. They said they would come out when they and I are ready. :o :O My aquantence who is really nice offered them to come out and tell him anything they wanted, but nobody. I felt like they were dog piling in my body sort of, but couldn't or weren't able to com eout at the time. My friend said they've been restrained so long give them time. :o :) Any advice? :) Thanks. :o Bttw there already seems to be an inner world which is so cool. A house i Know for sure. :o I saw 2 rooms, well not really much of the one but the carpet ... but other was playroom for very young children. :) Maybe they were reading with me. I started reading for a friend I had who has had did and maybe they saw about it? Idk but... i have no memory of sexual abuse, but i blv they do. i heard children talking loudly inside my head the first time 5/22 and they kept mentioning Grandpa so .. i guess... then a girl came and talked to me and answered a few questions but i never have heard from her since. Sorry. I have so much in my brain to say I ... can't write it well. i guess. :/ :) :p
Thank You. :)) Ps One day I met a girl who said she came when i got my braces and I COULD FEEL BRACES IN MY MOUTH! You just can't imagine it. it isn't the same when I try to imagine at all. :O

Someone on this forum told me to think of it as brain function.

It's not just a random thing. The parts are there for a reason. They are there to help you and even though they may seem and feel to you like they are separate entities they are in fact all you. It's just that your brain has learned to manage things in a different way.

If you have a DID system then whether you are aware of it or not your parts will be fronting and working for you.

I'm not a young person and I've only just learned about my DID system after more than 40 years of it working for me.

It's not magic, or random. It's not just personalities that come out of the sky and take over your body. They are all part of a whole. Let them do their work for you and be kind to yourself. I think that once you learn about why they are there and what their individual functions are then they will show themselves to you.

Oh yes I'm quite aware. I've been doing tons of research for the last probably maybe 10-11 yrs on DID. It started for a friend I had and then it also continued for myself. i used to call inside and say anybody in there, for some years. I would thing, nah... then last year I heard them for the first time. I normally don't hear loudly like that, so far most 99% I hear inside quiet sort of. The girl who talked loudly and the children. i haven't heard them in a long time. :o since last year. But I've been watching tons of videos, reading a lot, etc. :) Those headaches are sure awful though at times. :o
Hope you are doing
well. :) ~bsg :)

Have you tried communicating in a different way?

I don't often hear voices but they can tell me things in pictures in my head or through my own voice or symbols and sometimes through really strong repetitive thoughts and as soon as I acknowledge whatever it is and communicate back they go quiet again.

I know that if I ask a question I get an answer pretty speedily but it's not always in a voice type thing. It might be like a really loud thought that's almost a whisper but not quite.

I get headaches and dizziness too but only when I'm switching quite rapidly and that usually only happens when we go to see our T and everyone wants to front at once.

Yeah I'm doing well thanks for asking. Hope you are too.

I would like to think that they are listening to you. You just have to work out a way of hearing them.

When I was in my early 20s I stopped talking to mine and I stopped listening and it all went quiet for many years. This didn't mean that my system wasn't still working for me. It was just protecting me in a different way for a while.

I stopped communicating because I was scared because I didn't know it was DID and I thought I had a serious mental illness and I thought that if I told anyone then I would get put away.

Hello and welcome to the forums.

We, physically, just turned 49, and when we try to piece everything together, we get to about the age of six and just know that there were at least three, but probably more of us at that age. There are 28 of us, and it's taken a year and a half to figure all of that out.

You probably know all the advice, but it can take quite a while to sort things out, and we know some people with DID or OSDD who are still finding parts they didn't know about years after they were diagnosed or realized they had DID.

Take care,
Violette

Visualisation is really helpful.

I don't see rooms like yours but I do see compartments and categories. I also see when they are sleeping (inactive). Andrew was asleep for years and I visualised him sleeping and literally could feel him asleep. These days it's Soldier who is inactive and I can also see him sleeping. One of my littles sometimes whispers when she's fronting because she doesn't wanna wake him up.

I think it works differently for different people.

Hi and welcome

We've been covert for 54 years (no-one outside of this forum knows) I think being autistic has hidden it as people just assume if we seem a bit 'odd' its because we're autistic.

We didn't know or even suspect though until we hit our 40's! ..mainly because our 'social mask' alters had no knowledge or access to the inner world and no awareness between switches back then.

Video games brought quite a few of ours out as some were fascinated by them especially the big open world games that didn't exist when the body was the age of that little or teen.
