What do in system births represent?

Postby Eliseahorse » Sun Oct 01, 2023 8:41 am

Ok so I'll preface this with a few facts
1. Peter our architect has attempted to create life from memories before and it has always failed. His ettempts at creating inttojects of beloved pets ALWAYS crumble to dust the moment he stops thinking about them
2. I don't blame Peter in anyway for trying to help
3. There are multiple reasons why now is not the safest time for us to be getting pregnant irl. I will not be discussing these
4. The alter that got pregnant (19) is not our permanently broody mother figure (33)
5. 19 is hypersexual when stressed and had started risk taking as a means of coping with all the court stuff she has been front for.

So it would seam Peter overheard a discussion between a few of the older alters about how 19 doesn't understand what having a baby is like and that she wouldn't cope with one. Peter may be a kid but he is very observant and he tries to make sure that the internal world provides what we can't have externally. He is our architect.

33 has a reborn doll irl to help her cope with the trauma she has around miscarriage. We think Peter was trying to attempt something similar with 19.

Peter admits that he stole a few seconds of pregnancy memory from 33 and inserted them into 19 while she was sleeping inside this resulted in a speed run pregnancy when she woke. 19 had no idea what was going on but enjoyed it. When the baby was born Peter used his memories of our siblings as babies to animate clovis in the same way he had used his memories of our pets to animate versions of them. He fully expected that when he got board and left clovis would disintegrate.

Only clovis didn't. No one noticed 19s absence for a while, no one knew what was going on because Peter hadn't told anyone what he planned to do and 19 didn't know Peter had been involved because Peter kept out of sight. We have weird areas of time dilation in the inside and unfortunately 19 was in one of them. By the time anyone thought to check on her 19 had spent an entire year coping with a baby alone. She had serious pnd when she was found and its taken months for her to be able to acknowledge clovis. Clovis has been fostered by 2 other alters and he has grown up resembling them. He is 5 now and his only memories appear to be of life inside.

So we have a few questions.

Why is clovis here?
What keeps him running when all previous attempts by peter to create life disintegrated?
Clovis is vuagly aware of the existence of the outside world because he hears the rest of us talk about it but its the sort of awareness like you know north Korea exists because it pops up in the news now and again and you saw it on the map once. Should we shield him from it given he has no connection to it or should we allow him jaunts out if he shows an interest in visiting outside?
What is he?

One thing we know for certain is he has no connection too and has never approached 33 and doesn't acknowledge her existence except one time to express his anger and hurt that he wasn't loved by 19 the way that 33 loves the memories of her children. So we are certain that he is not being powered by her broodieness.

We are just a bit stumped as to how to interpret this new addition is it a sign of healing or a sign the system isn't coping?

We have ones with the ability to reincarnate and start a new life in a different form it tends to reflect the deep wishes of other alters or host.

We also have 'past pets' and 'past family members' living on the inside for us it is done by the changelings who choose to honor a memory of a host and help them cope with the loss on the outside.

For the first time one has chosen to represent someone who is still alive in the outside world but them as a child, so our child alter can re-experience life with him. we have agreed he will remain an insider and never front at least not unless the person he represents passes in real life before us.

Maybe for you Clovis has remained because someone in your system really needs him to? Maybe he is a reflection of what your host or some other alter secretly wished for?

As he's still only 5 maybe keep him inside for now and monitor the situation? (see if he matures further, and/or expresses a desire to visit the front etc)

Hope that is helpful

One thing that came to my mind is that maybe Clovis was a construct at first, but one of your fragments you didn't know about related to him enough to take his place. It can happen without anyone being aware of what's going on, even the fragment themselves.

I don't think it's a negative sign. It's a challenge and there are a lot of emotions to work on, yep, but I tend to see that kind of event as a way for the system to express and try to resolve emotions they weren't able to handle before.
