I'm curious. This is mostly because we've had two splits in the last couple months and while it hasn't impacted most of the system, it seems to have changed how a couple of alters behave. It might just be the stresses that caused the changes in behavior or something along those lines, but I would like to be certain and we couldn't find any information about that.
Thank you for any insight,
Violette

Behaviors are directed by the ressources, memories... and other mental actions available at any given time.
So if after a split, one of the new alters can no longer access a ressource, their behavior will change.
Same goes for any re-shuffling of the parts between the alters, no matter what triggers this shuffling. A proper integration allows all the alters to access a ressource or mental action, but if it is just a re-directing of ressources from an alter to another, it was a re-shuffling of parts. (Also both can happen at the same time for extra fun wheee! A part can be moved somewhere else and be integrated between alters who did not previously have access to it.)
Seeing behaviors/emotions/memories/abilities (= parts) as "packaged within" and alters/identities as "the wrapping around" helps better understand the phenomenon IMO. (And a "fragment" would be an unpackaged or not fully packaged part.)

Thank you for the answer, and that makes sense now.
We had two splits in the last two months, and that's created a great deal of chaos. I wanted to ask because Lilith has been acting a lot younger than her normal age and I (Violette) am finding that even some of my normal behaviors are different because of it.
Take care,
Violette

I guess when one part splits off from another they may take certain traits or memories with them so the one left may no longer have those traits/memories??
We have started exchanging (some) memories during temporary blends...mainly things like how to do things ...so everyone knows how to get up, get dressed, use the body to game, make dinner, look after our dog. Good memories like favourite camping trips, past pets etc
We do this via meditation..starting the process, getting into the zone and calling others forwards to blend and visualising the memory you want to share. We have also visualised making copies of memories then sending to Bobby & Phoenix on the inside for them to distribute copies in different areas of the brain (this is in case of a future stroke in the hope that at least one copy of the life memories would survive for whoever found themself up front to access).
Sometimes for safety reasons only a select few have memories/knowledge of things like how to use mobility scooter ..(like maybe only one or two of you can drive for safety reasons?) or have access to bank details for buying stuff etc.
Trauma memories are strictly controlled and aren't shared throughout the system.
Maybe finding a way to make copies of favourite/special memories or functional memories (how to play fav games/drive etc) to share will help? then it wouldn't matter so much who split from who?
