Hi everyone, this is my first time posting on this forum (or any forum tbh). I'm feeling super lost and thought maybe some people here can relate or provide some thoughts/reflections on this matter. I've been working with a T for over 6 months now, and a few weeks ago they sent an email saying that they experienced a major bereavement in their home and would be stopping work (didn't give an estimate on when they are due to return). They provided us with an email for a temp therapist.
Thing is I do understand their position, but i just can't get over how hurtful this is. I've been going through such a rough time lately and i really need their support. I can't stop thinking about them which has been so disruptive and honestly unhelpful, as i keep replaying reading the email in my head. I don't know what to do, I don't feel like reaching out to the other therapist as its so incredibly hard to open up to a therapist in the first place, i'm not even sure how beneficial going to see this other therapist would be. But I worry that my primary T could be away for months. the worst thing about this is that its the first therapist i've ever felt safe and connected to, and i'm so scared to lose that. And finally, i feel like im drowning and in constant crisis mode.

Welcome to the forums. I do hope that we can help you through this difficult time. I do hope that your T can get back to you sooner rather than later.
Take care of yourself,
Vi
