Reaching hard to reach alters

Trigger warning-disscussion of pregnancy loss/forced abortion

So we just remembered this forum existed.....anyway we could use some advice. I don’t know if this is a thing that other systems have or just us but it feels like there is a barrier that keeps me from communicating with some of my alters. I have one who keeps repeating scary/hurtful things and one that is holding the memory of us having a forced abortion as a teenager that we’ve been struggling with the past couple days since remembering it . So I feel like I need to work with them but when I try to talk to them it seems like they can’t hear me . Any of you have advice on how to reach them?

Would writing it down help? like a Journal on your computer or something where they may read it when they came out?

Trigger warning for abortion, too.

I think I know where you are. We uncovered three separate memories of back-street abortions when recovering our trauma. Much sympathy. The alters may simply be blocking you out on purpose because it is too hard for them to talk to you about their troubles, but I can't say for sure this is what is happening. A barrier is very possible.

Do these alters ever come out or are they strictly insiders? I like KitMcDaydream's suggestion of a journal, if they come out. Write your message and place it somewhere quite visible, maybe even at eye-level. If they don't come out, you may try to send them a message via another alter, someone they trust and will listen to. I don't know what your system is like, so I can't suggest much more.
