Keep finding new ones!!

This is Jody (19,f) so I seem to have found myself 'on the outside' hosting!

I've been out before at times briefly mostly when the host required their most 'bubbly, sociable persona' so mostly in the bodies college days or events such as parties,weddings etc. I'm usually the caretaker of the little's on the inside.

I really thought there was only a few of us - me and the little's on the inside and the adult host but we're now up to 10!!

Is this a 'normal' (if there is such a thing when speaking of DID) thing for more and more to reveal themselves often several years after finding out you have 'others'?

Also for years when the fronting hosts were not aware they were part of a system no-one had their own name, everyone identified with either the birth name or the legal name (after it was changed). but because Kit assigned names so they could explain the system easier when first coming on here, now everyone wants to choose their own name!!!

is this usual too after discovering you are part of a system??? It's all still very new and confusing to some of us!

& It's something we experienced and still experience, too!

& We always find new parts/fragments/alters. Most remain "inside" but sometimes we are surprised with some who end up in the front. Sometimes they stay front only for a few days and sometimes, well, they kinda stick.

& Also, once the dissociative structure is in place in the brain, new dissociated parts can pop up whenever needed (to contain new traumas for example, or to deal with new situations). So I guess we can never know for sure if we have everybody accounted for in a system.

Thank you for answering, it' very kind of you to acknowledge us. There's 10 so far and this year will be the 5th year since others started to come out and be aware of each other. Previously others tended to slip out one at a time without the hosts knowledge and previous hosts had no idea they had 'others'.

Mostly the younger ones want to choose a name themselves because they don't come out to front in front of any other real life person anyway so its not like they ever have to sign anything in the recognised signature of the legal name or whatever!

They tend to only want to come out to play video games as they find them fascinating as they either didn't exist at the time they were originally out or were still very basic! (Manic Miner on the ZX Spectrum!)

Our youngest likes to visit the ducks and play with the dog too. For the older teens there's not been much to do with lockdown going on and the host been unable to go out socially or even go to work for us to even 'slip out' anywhere exciting! ..like a party! ...or something!! ..so we've just been having our own parties on the inside!

Someone has been sending me 'messages' (in the form of thoughts and images) that the inside is much bigger and there's far more of 'us' than was first believed. I've no idea who though.

I haven't had a break to go back inside yet since coming out but I'll get one tomorrow if family visit cos we'll automatically switch. I haven't mastered the art of controlling switches yet but I know some (of us) can.
