Multiple Personality Home

Postby Western » Tue Nov 24, 2020 6:47 pm

OK so first of all I do apologise for the title but it's the best I could come up with.

Something I've thought about just recently is does your home reflect your different personalities or parts?

I think mine does. My bedroom is definitely a teenagers room. I don't notice it when I'm in there but I took a picture of it today after I decorated and it is definitely a teens room.

The rest of my home is also a complete mish mash of personalities as well. There are so many themes and colour schemes going on. It's like I'll make a start with one thing and the next day I've forgot and I'll start at the other end of the room with something else. I think it looks pretty cool to be honest but I do know that it looks like a few different people have come together with ideas and just gone their own way with it. This is something that runs all the way through my home.

Just wondered if anyone else has a multiple personality house?

um no not exactly, but i have on my computer lots of picture folders I set up, and I believe there is a lot being worked out through them. I think my house is meant to hide things more then reveal. So it looks pretty plain.

we dont have like diffrent rooms for diferents of us
its all like mushed together
and sometimes we dont even sorta see the things that arent ares
like em colects swords so there all around but usualy we dont notice
then suddenly viola says wtf are there so many swords here
& like we have stuffies all over
but like the older ones dont always see them
then theyre like wtf how do we have so many bun plushies?
i gues its kinda a mess cos we dont see each others stuff & dont throw out stuff thats not use anymore
so like theres books & hobby stuff that isnt any of ours but its still here even tho the ones it was for are gone now

Yes kind of similar. It's not like a different room per person its just all mashed up together but it somehow works. I don't do it intentionally either and I don't notice it until I take a picture of it and I just don't really recognise it.

Yeah we don't have enough rooms for everybody. We would need a mansion like on the inside.

On the outside its kind of things for bunches of us mixed in with regular stuff. We have a toy bin hidden in the bedroom closet.

So interesting.

Never have given much thought about how... disorganised our taste in decor is, until now. Most of our home is dictated by our partner, so.. no. However, if we'd clean it up, our own special place (cave, whatever) would be... very.. eclectic, if given to our own proclivities. It'd be nice, I envy you Western.

oOo We tend to try to have a sense of continuity in the house, regarding how it is overall organized.

oOo But, if you dig into the diversity of movies, books, craft supplies, pictures on the walls... It tells another story. The bathroom especially, feels like a museum with all the different products with different smells to accomodate everybody. Though the diversity of ingredients and snacks in the kitchen is also a clue.

oOo People we meet regularly, also tell us that they like how they can never tell in advance, how we're going to wear clothes, make-up, and hair. Or that we have a wide variety of painting styles.

oOo We do not feel safe enough to tell them that we are dissociative. But it feels nice to see how people enjoy our inner diversity.
