Fusions before awareness?

So we're doing a lot of inner world to outside thinking, trying to compare and contrast to make sense of stuff in our lives- to understand each of us, and our whole self, better.

Is it possible for alters to have fusions without even understanding it or how they exist... before we were like aware of how we exist?

Pixie do you mean like 'system buddies?'

Because I feel some of our abused children stick together...and not always in good ways....and they've had an inner world that I am just now starting to get glimpses into....way before I came along.

For example I haven't gotten to the bottom of this but I know one little girl paints an ugly star over her face and she sees herself as hideous and very scary....and two little girls who are both images of the body at two different ages (about 5 and 7) start attacking her if I try to coax her out of her self-hatred and get her to open up to me. My assessment which could be wrong is the two who follow one another are outside alters from those ages who were the sweethearts of adults and peers and the "ugly" girl is one who took abuse and held the secrets and the other girls feel threatened by her secrets coming out.

Not sure if that's what you mean - but I feel like those two are fused together just with differing ages. They feel like twins...and they intimidate me a bit because I feel they existed long before 'I' did.

I mean like fusion from like complete or super close integration... like the two ppl becoming one- which is a goal for many with DID- to have integration to the point they're "singular-like" with all ppl acting and presenting as if one.

That IS a possible thing and happens, but can it happen before you even know you're part of a system?

I'd like to think so....just because as some things healed for me I felt less separated from myself long before I had terms for DID or a system, etc....I just thought I was strange. And like I said I believe some of our younger parts are fused together.

I'll be curious to see who else weighs in and if anyone else thinks they've experienced it.

Yes, it's possible.

I think it's most common for fragments to fuse before becoming aware. We've had a sense of others existing inside whom we haven't known, but when we eventually meet them it is after they have fused and are then strong enough to be known and to know themself.

Thanks! IDK if Lizzie was a fragment or just like us... but I'm pretty sure that she and I somehow kinda like fused or merged or whatever. It just make so much make sense... why she looked so much like me (she and I coulda been twins, literally) for example. Little things like stuff I know or have a good sense of, between Angel and I, just in general... IDK. It just makes things make sense and I kinda think I like that.
