Birthdays...

Postby Zor » Sat Apr 11, 2020 8:10 pm

So like today in our system, it's Katya's birthday... and we've been aging like normal like since we "anchored" our inner world to the outside world (kinda accidentally cuz we didn't know at the time we'd done that, or that there even WAS an "inner and outer world" to like unite/link together).

ANYHOW, we all have diff birthdays (well Kitten & I have the same one, but that's like not a "rule", just is) than Zor, than the body (his and the body are the same). IDK how/why we have the days we do... kinda like our names. They just are.

Anyone else have diff birthdays than the host and/or body, or not have them at all?

We just answered this question elsewhere online a couple of days ago, so here comes Ye Olde Cut and Paste:

A couple of us are really into astrology, so we assigned "birthdays" based on sun-moon combinations and how astrology describes the personalities of these 144 combinations. In theory, each of us is unique, so only one system member per combination. Fortunately, there are only 47 of us.

On the practical side, we only celebrate the body's birthday, which is a lot easier. Coincidentally, none of us individually has the combination that falls on the body's birthday.

PS: None of us age.

MDs

PPS: We have two sets of twins. With different birthdays, of course, because of the above. How can this be? Because it's all about the corresponding personality, not the dates.

Most of our system members don't have a specific birthday, but some have a birthday other than the body's. There isn't a correlation between ability to age and having a birthday for us either. We internally acknowledge the one other birthday that we know the specific date for, but can't for others because we just know generally they have a birthday in a particular month or around a particular time.

hey Pixie

about half of us have birthdays, the others either don't, or if they do we don't know yet what they are?

the ones who do have a day, usually picked the day we 'woke up' or became aware of ourselves within the system. a couple just picked a date that they liked or whatever, and decided that was their birthday.

none of us relate to the body's birthday, like at all. so far none of us are even in the same month as the body birthday lol.

and like MDs system, none of us age. we all stay fixed or stuck at whatever age we appeared at.

We don’t really have birthdays as much as we have ‘made contact with the rest of the system for the first time’ days (me and one of the kids do have and in fact share a birthday though). No one else seems to age except me.

Growing up we never knew about DID but when 'Deaf Thea' emerged we would often celebrate the body's birthday seperately going out with the deaf friends Thea had made and having a family event seperately. This then continued after Maddie took over and people that only knew the body as Maddie wanted to visit her for her birthday.

This year maybe first for years we won't as the country may still be in lockdown for the body's birthday so we'll be home alone. So this year we only planning to have a joint-belated-birthday-family-BBQ meal once the lockdown is over and if we're still in lockdown for our birthdays (us and sibling) I will leave gift outside door for them to pick up when they drop off food and they'll leave mine outside for me to take in.

If I can get a cake delivered with a food shop that be good. The littles would like a chocolate cake with smarties on! We all like similar things so new colouring pencils or book/or other art materials and a video game and a bottle of booze will keep everyone happy and slipping out early with the dog to have the lake to ourselves will be enough for us to have a good day. None of us have really aged though, Sioux is possibly closest to the physical body's age or portrays that age more closely when acting as the social mask in the company of to others.

Re: Birthdays...

Postby Sarandipity » Sun Apr 12, 2020 11:38 am

I would hear "it's my birthday" when I wasn't very aware and then think "it's not my birthday, don't be stupid" because at the time I thought it was my own random thought. I never have found out or worked out who has different birthdays or when they are.

The idea came and I can't say who from for definite but it was probably the twins because they love "simple problems simple solutions" that we all celebrate but at the same time around the body's birthday (I am deliberately not calling it "my birthday" because now it's "we all celebrate being alive time"). This was when I thought "how on earth, even if I did know them and wrote them all down am I going to remember it's an internal birthday, I struggle with outside peoples birthday" and nobody wanted anyone to feel left out. So it was decided we all celebrate together.

This year around my actual birthday I did different activities that different parts would enjoy. This took about 10 days. It worked really well. Everyone seems to be ok with this that we all celebrate together. I don't know if they have let go of their personal birth dates or not but the idea was to bring everyone together.

I keep having this idea come into my head of celebrating all the outside children's birthday with one big party and a feeling of how that'd be great which typing this I realise it's probably linked to having done that with internal parts.

Anyway that's what I've done, it could change if parts become insistent on "it's my birthday today" but this year I think everyone enjoyed celebrating "being alive" in the different ways we did it.

So like Kitten and I are "twins", but didn't appear or come about together... but we DO share the same age and birthday.

That personality-astrological birthday thingy sounds kinda neat! :D

And like you we only celebrate the body's birthday (which is also Zor's)... simplicity I guess, also cuz ppl like don't accept us and/or know... and it'd be more of a problem and stressor than fun thing to do to celebrate our own. :(

I so totally LOVE that idea... we might have to do that some day- if we get more tolerant and understanding ppl around us outside to be part of it and help with it. :)

So we've always had birthdays "inside" and never knew it was only "inside". Until a few years ago, we didn't know that we existed "inside/outside" like this.

I'd LOVE to get Zor inside so we COULD celebrate birthdays inside with him, too- all of us together or something... but even better would be outside stuff with ppl knowing it's US and being there FOR US, etc.

But yeah, like you... we didn't know growing up either... Zor & body age was 39 by the time it was discovered... so this is all kinda new ground still for us... :)

Thanks for the insight and stuff - all of you that replied! :D
