To me I think that my alters speak as thoughts. I'm not positive though. I am just confused because Thorne and Abela operate on feelings and no words and the thoughts I hear that seem foreign to me are only thoughts. I don't feel their emotions. Like today I was trying to nap and I was thinking I needed to get my doctor to check my left lymph node. It is bigger than the right. A thought popped up that was Mommy, (the thoughts refer to every female in a caring position in my life as Mommy) I go to sleep like a bear but I didn't feel like a child.

Is this normal? To have alters that only feel or alters that only speak but not feel?

You don’t know very much about your system yet. You only notice feelings from one person, because maybe they haven’t started speaking to you yet. And you might be only hearing words from someone who is still hiding their feelings from you. So, yes, it’s normal to know as little as you do at this stage. Are they fragments who are robotic or mute? I don’t know, and clearly you don’t know yet. There really is no “normal” for DID.
