We seem to have a rogue...

Everybody's pretty rattled - we seem to have a newcomer.

Not in itself problematic, but they're behaving exactly like me, to the point where our SO can't tell except for maladaptive coping strategies that I've kinda passed on from which gave Lex a 'weird feeling'. They don't seem to want to talk, acknowledge what's going on or anything and it's really kinda creeping me out. They're also identifying as me when asked by our SO. Only reason I know is because I'm losing ###$ of time (along with everybody else) and I'm not sure what to do.

Not sure how much of a good idea it ever was but we usually play the name game with alters that don't want to talk.
Pick the most idiotic names you can think of and be generally annoying/stupid till they start telling you to shut up. Then make a big deal on how you cracked their wall saying finally ect and ask them what they want to be called. Try to keep them talking as long as poss as otherwise they will be slip back into silence.
I was always pretty good at it, I am told I'm annoying.
Feel free to give it a go, probably best not to let the SO do it though, been punched a couple of times playing the game. Best to keep violence in the family

Sometimes an alter can split off of another alter and have the same identity. We have a few in our system who have very similar names because they have a common thread, same way we have other threads of common features. This rogue may have another name entirely, but they might also just be another version of you. Some systems have age sliders who appear at only 2 or 3 distinct ages, rather than anywhere on a sliding range, and one might consider those 2-3 age states as different alters or as the same alter in different states.

We hope you can make contact soon and are able to get them to discontinue the maladaptive coping strategies.

Okay update here, said newcomer fronted for several hours, our SO mercifully noticed something was amiss...

and I came in to find "Leave me alone" scrawled on our arm.

I am seriously spooked.

Will try the things you've both mentioned, and thanks so much for replying. Just really, really freaked out right now.

It could also be that they are used to hiding and are continuing to do so when fronting. Trying to keep the veil of continuity rather than any sneakiness or malevolence.

They could have also just "woke up" and are confused. A few in Sunflower's system were that way.

Either way, I would try having your SO being welcoming rather than accusatory. (Not saying they are, but if they are, welcoming is the better strategy. )
