I don't know why shouldn't he or why he was, but I thought then it had something to do with Leon why he stayed. And now I just realized Leon has not been around this year either. They can be together doing something, that Lucas was waiting Leon to be ready for. Or himself to be ready for Leon.

With Leon it can be about New Year too, tho. It's triggering to him, he can be hiding somewhere too after New Year. I'll try to find him, in case he got scared and is hiding.
