My T said today that maybe we should just not focus so much on whether I am DID or not. Maybe do some IFS work. She said it's much more concrete. Still check in like say hey I'm feeling xyz 3 or 4 times a day and ask what they are feeling. Write it down if it's significant. She said maybe my "bad" alter Thorne could be part of a theory called object relation theory. Where things get messed up by how we perceive things from our parents and that's what Thorne is about. Then later in session I asked her about something and she said that could be an alter or anxiety. I asked her about when I had one dollar to get an orange juice but I was entertaining the thought that I would also get a pop tart even though I couldn't. She said could be an alter could be anxiety. We also talked about right after I eat sometimes I forget for a split second that I've eaten. She said thats probably anxiety. What do you guys think about her approach?
