Another moderator actually moved your initial post here so you're fine here. There are other SOs here and you can get information and support from them and from those with DID. I don't recall specifically but there may have been issues with a significant other in the past. Obviously a post starting with something like "why is it that you DID people always blah blah" isn't appropriate.
I appreciate your point of being respectful as that's a key difference for where a SO of someone with any condition should post. If they're looking to find out about a diagnosis and/or talk with people with that diagnosis in a respectful way, it's usually fine for them to post in that forum. I don't know, there may be forums here where SO posts are upsetting or unwelcome but this isn't one.
The
Significant Others, Family & Friends Forum is great for discussions and support more generally, though there are threads focusing on specific diagnoses.

It is in the official rules. My feel for it is similar to what is stated above. If you are respectful, it is generally accepted. Yet it allows mods to use the ban hammer if someone is try to be controlling or manipulative. Also cuts down on the " my SO has DID and dumped me. How do I get them back?"
I am an SO and am up front about it. I try to keep my posts related to how to relate to alters or places I can provide experiences or outside perspective. My opinion is if it is along those lines, it would generally be accepted. With personal related issues from an SO better suited for other channels. (depression etc.)
It all boils down to respect.
You are also welcome to PM me if you like. Not a professional. Just a regular Joe who found out my wife is multiple after a decade of marriage.

And we like totally appreciate your input- cuz it's the "other side" of the equation of a relationship WE can't see and experience... So it's super helpful and valuable to us.
