Physical sensations when switching?

Postby Sarandipity » Tue Sep 24, 2019 9:27 am

I read something about someone's mother here and it started me thinking about my mother which started me thinking about "No-one" because the worst era of our mother was "No-one's" era. Worst in that we were late teens and had enough of her, tried to choke her and pulled the lock off the door with our bare hands and ran and the mother called the police and said "she's crazy" and we thought go to the psychiatric hospital because we can get away from her. No-one was put in silent lake for a long while when we had our son because she can be a wild card and it was thought best, possibly unfair because she's not actually that bad so far since she's been back.

Then as I was thinking about her she showed up, No-one, and said "what you saying about me" I was only thinking not saying or typing. As she was there, she's still here so she must wonder about this too, I got a pain in my chest.

The pain in my chest is on the right side of the body, where the heart would be if the heart was on the right. I'm in the right side of the body. She's in the left. Head is incredibly hazy too but it's the chest pain I'm wondering about.

Sometimes if there's a switch happening for me it feels like a chest pain kind of heart attack. For others it can feel like a hole in the head, on whatever side we're in. Like we're killed off from being in the body. I'm fighting her at the moment so the chest pain is now gone and the left side, where she is, has a headache and vision is really bad out of the left eye. She's pushing back.

My question is do any of you get physical pain, like your being killed out of the body, when another part wants to take over?

Other physical sensations are (other parts want theirs said now) feeling like being bitten by a vampire, feeling like the throat is cut, feeling like the brain is being killed - pain followed by numbness, breath is held for a period of time until one goes and next comes in, feeling of being stabbed in the back, feeling of being stabbed in the belly, feeling of being sucked out of the body through a round hole. I think that's all of them.

I've always had these physical sensations so when I was told I'm "crazy" I put it down to that. That I have strange physical sensations due to craziness but I've realised it's when there's a switch or a fight over the body. Does anyone else have anything similar and if so how does it happen for you?

We don't get anything consistent. There's some sensations that happen sometimes, but not other times.

One thing is where we get like tunnel vision and sudden tiredness / exhaustion. Best way i can describe it is if like your brain is water and someone opened a drain at the base of our skull just behind where the spine attaches? And it feels like 'you' are draining out the back of your own head. And then 'you' are back and feeling better, but its not 'you' any more.

Those are usually slower switches for us, and maybe that happens more when the one fronting is fighting it? I'm not sure tho.

Another one we get sometimes, with fast/instant switches, is like an electrical current that starts at the head and shoots down over the whole body, like just under the skin. We kinda perceive it as a flash of blue energy, it's like a split second and its over and someone else is fronting.

There might be other things I can't remember. Mostly tho I think alot of our switches are unnoticed. Like we switch at night when we're asleep, or it happens and we don't notice (or dont remember).

We feel physical pain, in the top 2/3 of the torso mostly, when someone is trying to come front and is kept back/does not manage to come through. Headaches when someone stays front way past their ability to front. Our friend/s Team PSI never reported anything of the sort but when switching otherwise than co-consciousness (co-awareness? cannot remember which atm, it's the same word in french) they seem to fall in a light trance for a few seconds.

I get headaches when grace tries to push to the front. peter is a bundle of energy like a suppressed hiccup. when the switch is "natural" rather than triggered then I get tired.

Peter says that grace is snatchy and hits him and pushes him and shouts when she wants the body. sometimes he feels squeezed or squashed. When I'm switching in he just hears me saying "times up" and he gets tired.

Grace has noted in our journal that she gets a lot of noise and fog. also just lately when fear has been close (though she has yet to come out properly) grace experiences memory based pain. (her arm feals broken even though she knows it isn't....)

Thank you for sharing your experiences.

After writing this I had to lay down. Then when I got up I went downstairs and started to do chores. I came over very feint and felt sick. I had to sit down again.

I'm putting this down to a fight over who had control of the body. I felt exhausted, body pain and I often get a pain in the heal of my right foot - having done nothing to cause it. I don't know what the foot thing is specifically about but it happens alot.

Thanks again for sharing yours.

We don't know if this is related to switching (it probably is), but we get extremely tired when Nico has to come forward. Like, physically exhausted. It's like the body shuts down. We don't know if this has to do with heartbeat, muscle tension being released, or what.

With Xavier we sometimes just feel tingles through all the body, and then we get a burst of energy. But it's not pain.

We almost never get headaches either (luckily).

It depends which parts are involved. I might be unaware until after the fact. I might grey out. I might feel a massive headache. But most often I felt as if I were vomiting. I felt something rising up from somewhere deep inside of me and coming out my mouth. And flowing into my arms and legs and mind.

Thanks guys. I used to not have a headache ever but in the last couple of years I've had headaches. I think it's down to the twins being subconscious and then not being. They're not around again now. I should see if the headaches are around still.

With my physical sensations being like being killed off in some way it sort of makes sense. I had imaginary friends when very little up to about age 3 (I know the twins were my imaginary friends but can't remember if other alters were or not) and one thing I strongly remember is that if they fell out they killed eachother and then came back to life later. There used to be two Batcho's. Good Batcho and bad Batcho but they kept killing eachother until they became one Batcho and Fortune, who is a different race and gender then became the second twin. The Batcho's always shot eachother. So if that's how they behaved when I'd see them as outside imaginary friends I guess it makes sense that's how they'd behave in the body.

It would be good to be able to put the different sensations to different alters. Like I said I know the twins use "shot to the head" No-one clearly causes sort of heart pain. The Overlord is the feeling of a vampire bite, he switches ages and gender and is sometimes a really ancient creature that looks like and old vampire. It's making my head go fuzzy. I'll think about this later again.

Seeing all yours - sucked out the body, electric shocks, throwing up an alter makes me feel it's kind of normal to get some other sensations not just headaches and blurred vision that seems to be most talked about. I suppose because it's easier to say those and they're more universal. The individual sensations I guess will depend on how the system develops and what the personalities in the system are like and how switching in that particular system is viewed and the outside experiences will be muddled into all that - real life, books and tv.

Thanks again :)
