I hear you saying two things didn't work. Did anything work? I don't know anything about hypnotherapy, but if it is like others it takes time and is a process - not an instant fix, unfortunately I don't think those exist. If it feels like something that may help you, you are willing to be open to it, and it gives you peace on some level. Give it a few more tries before judging how it went. If it feels harmful in some way then don't continue it for now. I think communicating all your concerns and thoughts with your T about this is a good idea.
We did this with some mindfulness stuff T gave us to work on. It was not the right time for us, but we tried it several times before we made that decision. There was a couple small take aways for us that are now in our toolbox. Just because it isn't right now doesn't mean it won't be right in the future.
