Do your parts have last names?

Not something we have thought of, but yes we all share a common last name. Which is different to Purple Haze's legal last name. But is a name that one of us had decided on when she was younger and is a last name that she sometimes herself uses.

We are not sure who decided on this last name, but it is what it is. Sorry, but we do not feel comfortable in sharing this name.

I am surprised Pixie shared what she did. She must be getting more and more comfortable with people here.

So yeah... basically, what Pixie said. LOL
I learned about them and got to know them for years with those names attached to them for years before I knew they were part of me, a whole with me. So... Yeah, they can and might adopt personas, ethnicity, and even surnames all their own. Kaleb and Katya are Jewish ethnically (well he is, she's adopted through Russian descent she's always said) and Messianic in faith. I am NONE of the above.
Just like names, it's just how it works, I guess. It's whatever the system needs or the various people in it feel is appropriate and identifying them as a person. IMHO it's not a lot different than gender and/or sexuality of a person in the system... those can vary dramatically from the body and any/all other parts... so why not names and surnames?

We've tried it, but it hasn't stuck. We tried one consistent surname for everyone, but not everyone identified. Plus ~Light~, Gideon, Aurora17, Reckless, and Twelve are all (as the Fluxes put it) mononyms.

We've also tried having individuals or branches select surnames, but that didn't catch on either. Only a couple of us showed any inclination.

So, we're just MDs.

I have a last name! No clue why. I don't know whether anybody else does, but I have a separate last name from the host/body Jen.

I don't believe any of us do at this point ... then again we are just learning our first names. Maybe someday it will come out into the light that we do, but for now we are happy to be getting a little more awareness of each other.

Most of us don't have last names, but Anime and I each have a last name we picked to use for accounts and stuff (they're boring and we don't use them outside of mandatory last names needed for accounts). Then there's the body last name which Alex uses, but we just call him Alex. Neko and Saggita have full names though, those are their nicknames. Neko's full name is Kuroneko, and Saggita's is Sagittarius.

None of us has a last name, mostly because all of us have given names and never came up with a name already attached to them. Some chose their own name, others still identify as not having one, and others are content with the name we together chose for them.
