Does your chatter comment on things during the day? Mine rarely does. Like comment on your daily activities?

It's different for everyone. For some it's always, others never. We're a very co-conscious system, so we're aware a lot of the time what eachother are saying/doing.

Like yours ours rarely does either. I tried to explain it to T as a big white noise machine in my head feels like it is always on just above several silenced voices. When I think it is going quieter (white noise) then many times counting or saying the alphabet backwards repetitively takes its place. For us I think it was the way I coped with trying to silence the others for so long as I thought we were crazy and not just trying to survive. That's our experience. Some days now though that we are more aware and excepting there is very minimal chatter (progress).

I have a song playing in my head if I need to not hear whatever they're saying or they don't want me to hear.

Sometimes I talk out loud to myself. I prefer that to talking internally because it keeps the conversation short and relavent eg where did we put the keys? Oh yeah they're over there" internally something simple like that could turn into "you should look after the keys" "no you should" "why didn't we put the keys there" "we should always put the keys there" "you're so unorganised" "excuse me, it's called organised chaos" "well it's slowing down our day" "our day is running at a different schedule so looking for a moment suits us" "well still we could do something else with a spare min" etc etc But saying it out loud is two sentences "where's the keys" then looks then "oh they're there" It stops it escalating if I speak some of the internal dialogue outside. Or I just play a song in my head to block them out.

Pixie does sometimes, not "all the time", but often enough. She can provide commentary (often sarcastic and silly), but also advice and insights if it's something she knows about that I don't.

So far, she's the only one I can "hear" inside this way directly. We're still working on communication... I HAVE heard others before, Pixie and Katya once talking about a pair of leggings with a skirt attached they thought were cute and wanted, for example (BTW I, and our body... male... So skirts and cutesy girlie stuff is so NOT me). But it's rare and generally unexpected and without specific intention (unlike Pixie's general comments mentioned above which are totally intentional and with effort).

So yeah, they can and sometimes might. Just part and parcel of living with others in your head. :)
