Everyone kind of formed with their name as far as I know. I knew Caroline's name was something that started with Car- before she had fully finished forming. + one interesting thing: none of us have a name in our local language. Everybody's name is in English and have always been that way.

Some had our own names from the off, some developed them/chose their own, Angel was named by my SO when she first emerged and it stuck, so variable. Jen.
Em (26, f, host), Jen (19, f) Echo (4, f) Angel (9, f), Vivian (36, f), Jacob (13, m), Xavier (?, m), Oliver (?, m), Lily (f, 4-6), Lilith (f, ?), Michael (m, 26) Heather (?, f). SO Lex (f) may be mentioned.

Unfortunately they either came with the names or named themselves. They're pretty much names I really dislike or have negative connotations towards. I don't know if I hated those names because they were names of my alters or if they picked those names because I hate them. Except for Peter, Batcho and Fortune, they're ok. I don't mind those but the others I never liked any of those names. I would of picked other names, more interesting names lol.
Monte Carlo or Bust
Rose and Patrick
Batcho and Fortune (twins), Paul and Lilly,
No-one and Peter, Beth and Karen, Mandy and Mouse plus a seperate system of fragments including: rabit and others.

Based on our system, which is a terrible standard by which to assess anything about your system, my guess is the former.

Most picked their own, some of us named the youngest among us. We rejected a couple names as inappropriate and a few changed theirs for good reasons.

To my knowledge everyone formed their own name from the things around them, with the exception of Akane and Flair. I originally was two alters named Koneko and Kuroneko, after we 'merged' (I'm not sure if there is a proper term for this) I kept the name Kuroneko because I kept his appearance. Akane was the second time we split (we all split at different points during our childhood) but stayed without a name for years, he ended up picking the name Akane for a random online roleplay he was using himself in and ended up just keeping the name. Flair was the last of us to split and originally didn't have a detailed visual representation (just a vague changing idea of a form) nor a name, so she decided both of those for herself. But none of us picked names for each other. Also Alex (host) wasn't nammed Alexander at birth, he had outter friends help him pick the name when he came out as trans.

There have been names that have followed me through life that I had no clue why they felt so intimate (even though some of the names I would not prefer). In T office we assigned certain feelings names before we had more awareness to different things T and I spoke about.

As I am introduced to others in our system I find that some of the names have always been there because they were the others names even when they were dormant. The thing that is happening at this early stage is I am learning that I was confused about how they present themselves even down to using wrong verbiage on gender.

We decided our names all by our own, except for someone. The name thing is a pretty interesting argument because someone thinks that, if you chose a name for some alters, means they don't exist. It's not true, at all. I've chose the names for Charles, Glenn and Rhee, and the three of them still exist. Lol.
