It is entirely possible, and normal, for a person to both love and hate another person at the same time. The opposite of love is not hate but indifference.

Can someone with DID actually ever really love someone? Yes, absolutely. We often love multiple someones, at the same time.

Wow Una that sounds intense! Here’s a question. As soon as everyone rebelled, a new alter came out - one I didn’t know. He’s now dating a former flame - it’s ok - my first boyfriend would do the same and I’m the one who broke it off. Will our relationship be erased? I love him and I will always love him but I just don’t understand the DID. I did it with my first boyfriend when I was 18. I’m 42 now and have no desire to do it again. I’d just like one love who treats me well. No, he never appeared normal - especially in bed lol. But I love him - every bit of him and then he started to turn on me and there was no way I will tolerate that again so I kinda wasn’t very nice. But I’ve made amends and apologised for everything. Thanks for your feedback! I’m gonna focus on myself. I’m pretty certain he’s gonna erase everything that happened between us. It is what it is. But I know things never erased lol.

By most reckoning, this is bad.

When someone says they "got rid" of an alter, or they "killed it" or "it died", that means one or more other alters stuffed that alter down inside and locked it in. It could stay that way for hours, days, weeks, months, years. There is no knowing what is likely, except by detailed study of the system as a whole.

DID aside, if you want an exclusive relationship with a partner, then someone who is a "serial monogamist" or a cheater is not a good choice of partner.
