amd wrote:hello everyone
i have a simple question but maybe complicated to answer :
How the first time you realize you are DID ?did you realize it yourself then go to doctor and diagnosed ,or you went to doc for something ales and they discover that accidentally ?
i am interested to know about THE EVENTS that lead to diagnostician of DID .
your answer can be as short as you want .
thanks alot
Why do you want to know? Why not tell us about yourself first?

[quote="Johnny-Jack"]For us it was a long, long process. One or more of us suspected DID as far back as our teens. Then we suspected it a couple decades later but had a poor therapist and not enough

thanks alot everyone for your generous answers .i am reading all of them precisely.and the diversity of them is very interesting .
as mike asked me to talk about myself ,i am a very curious person that spends alot of time trying to understand and learn about human and the way we function in relation with ourselves and others .
i am passionatly interested in developmental psycology and consepts like desociation ,integeration, identity and sence of self .i can say i have always been chalenged by my own identity and mind-body relationship in myself.
i have definitly lived a trumatic childhood and in many ways feel close to people with DID.as far as i know i dont have DID.but reading about DID and talking to people like you provides me alot of clue to understand myself and improve my life.
also im new to this website so i dont know the unwritten rules of any forums ,i hope that justify me if i act bizarrely in some ways .

Thank you for the recommendation amd. Also have you heard of the book The Haunted Self? The Theory of Structural Dissociation made everything make sense to me even if it's incomplete. It's a tedious tome and admittedly I haven't read all of it but it's very good.
