Back after a while

Hi all, I posted here a few years ago asking for help in talking to a new psychologist. In the end that went sour and we were dropped after three or four appointments, then we kind of stopped logging in here. I've been lurking a little now and then but finally decided to come back.

Things have been going a bit better since then. We tried to go looking for help again late last year and were open about the situation (meaning, well, being 'us') right from the start, because we didn't want to waste time with someone else who would run away after a few sessions. There was a bit of a rocky start and a lot of being lied to and eventually told they couldn't help unless we wanted to be fed medication by the handful, but finally we were contacted by the team leader in charge of the psychologists and therapists working throughout the area.

And - this must be a miracle because we've never encountered it before - she LISTENS.

We've been seeing her since then, only once every month or two because she can only be in town one day a week, but slow progress is still progress. Chrissy spent half an hour talking to her a few sessions ago. We have a working diagnosis of DDNOS and are starting to work through a dissociation help book. She's encouraging all of us to have input - if not during the sessions, then at least when writing out the workbook's homework.

On the negative side we've had ongoing physical health issues since January this year which have ben thoroughly unpleasant to deal with. There have also been a couple more alters identified since we last posted, bringing the current number to eight. The four in our signature are the only ones who are interested in being active at the current point, though. And... I think that's about everything relevant.

Welcome to the forum! There is a lot of great information and support on here, so hopefully it can supplement your therapy. There is a littles' thread and a teen thread. I have parts that are very talkative on those, and it really helps them to have friends to talk to.
