In my head i often refer to myself as we or you but sometimes when I’m having a conversation I would say something out loud like ‘I guess you’ve just gotta be greatful you’ve never tried heroin’ but I’m not referring to the other person I’m referring to myself. Ugh it happens a lot I can’t be the only one

I don't know if this'll help cuz I can't think of an example - but it sounds/feels very, very familiar to us. It doesn't sound strange at all. Actually, it makes a lot of sense to us.

Yup, mainly when co-conscious alters are talking to each other or to me.

Our core self Kit has always referred to herself as you and in the third person but she has autism. We've never met anyone else who did it who wasn't autistic, as it's fairly common amongst autistic kids as they often repeat exactly (Echolalia) eg someone asks them 'Would you like a drink? '''' then when they want a drink they would just repeat 'Would you like a drink?' ... meaning 'I would like a drink.

One time we were talking and my son asked who I was talking to.
I or someone inside had asked my son why he hadn’t told “ her” something about a school issue -so one part was talking about “ me”.
