Have you ever discovered any patterns about the out looks of the parts? I don't believe many things if anything in DID is pure coincidence.
Do you have a lot of parts who look like body does, or did at their age? Is there any difference between them and the ones who have their own out look?

We don't visualize ourselves or each other. We just sometimes freak out when we see a mirror and have different taste.
I think that's a barrier, still, because I also have no clue how the inner world looks. We just think thoughts.
Is that really uncommon?

None of us look like the body. Maybe previous host was close, but she's not around to ask. None of us are the body age, either. Almost all of us are younger. I don't know if any of us age, but I kinda hope not lol. For me anyways.
V1 and me kinda look similar to each other I guess. But we have very different personality / outlooks.
Well different in some ways, maybe not all different. I'm normally the happy positive optomistic one, she's the anxious uptight obsessive one. I'm not feeling so happy today but I think that's cos I've been out front too much and I'm tired of it. I'm also the social one and there's noone around to socialize with. V1 is more the independant type. Introvert I guess, I'm an extrovert?
Of all the parts we know in our system, we're all fairly different, in appearance and outlook? The littles are probably most similar as a group, but that's not surprising cos they mostly dealt with trauma / abuse, of similar kinds...

We don't think so but we have aphantasia (which means we have a blind minds eye) so we can't see anything inside.
Non of us identify with the way the body looks but I think that's because we dissacociate from it so much. I also wonder if the aphantasia is an extension of the dissacociation or if its biological.

Never heard of that, NyxX! I'm sorry you have that (I don't, it's just us and inside). Googled it and the wiki-page from my country says (in 2016 this was written) that science believes this can be caused by dissociative conditions.

I kind of like it. When we have flashbacks there is never any imagery which we are glad of because we don't want it. And it makes it easier to fight our way out, we just have to focus on what we see that's here and now everything else is the past.
And some of the research into it says congenital but it has even less research then DID probably because its more a curiosity then something that has an impact on anyone's life.

There is the Wolf alter who appears as a ghost or corpse. He's the only one who looks like anything. I have seen myself before a chasm that stopped me from achieving my potential. That was upsetting. From a different point of view Front is in a kind of box. I'm a program limited to the parameters of my programming. Someone showed me that about myself.
Shield is thought as being misshapen and ugly due growing while bound. She could also be a guard dog or even a point of light. I've seen babies too. We're all part of the New System. There is more imagery in the Old System where the Wolf resides. There are wolves and other animals, a dark mythical forest and sometimes more dead things.

We have both: some parts who look like the body when they used to front a lot, and parts that look entirely different from the body.
I think for our system there may be a difference: the ones who look less like the body tend to be more based in trying to give us something that we felt we did not possess (e.g. aggression).

K, B, and I have become ok with mirrors and pictures. We can scroll through selfies on the phone and actually tell who took the picture. In B’s mind her hair is red, mine is almost black. The body’s hair was dark blonde before it started going grey.
The little one detests mirrors. She recognizes the body, but hates the reminder that “her” body does not “match” her 5 year old self. Also in her mind she looks nothing like K did as a child. She is constantly trying to cut our hair, or sneaking black hair dye into the grocery cart.
It doesn’t help that she thinks she’s part wolf and has the appropriate ears and tail, though I suspect it’s more like she’s playing at dress up. Who knows for sure? Lol
Does that make sense?
