We had to meet with a manager at the bank today, and it should have been really routine but she was a bit clueless and confrontational and that made me super-stressed. And normally V2 has been handling this stuff because she's pretty calm and doesn't get flustered but she isn't around today so I had to go, and I'm easily stressed to begin with.
Then I noticed that the more uptight I got, the harder it was to read anything. Like I had to put on reading glasses, but even that barely helped. I don't know if it was that my eyes were literally getting worse or if it was more that I just mentally was unable to focus?
And it feels like this has been going on for a long time but I just never sort of noticed it? Or noticed it but it never really 'stuck' before? I don't know how to explain it. Not quite like deja-vu but sort of. Like as I was struggling to comprehend the paperwork the bankmanager was giving me, there was just this little feeling like 'oh yeah, we can never read stuff under pressure'.
And really, it wasn't that I couldn't see, because I think could clearly see everything in her office, the trinkets on her desk, the pictures and stuff on the wall. It was more that I couldn't read when she was putting papers infront of me.
Is this a thing? Anyone else have similar experience, or heard of this before?

Yes-I’ve definitely had vision issues where things are blurry and I can’t visualize the words but I’ve also had the experience of not comprehending under stress. I can’t connect it. Don’t understand .
It seemed related to being dissociative I “ think” but was brought on by stress.
It was confusing and scary . But never lasted too long .

when we get stressed and into mild dissociation paper work starts to swim before our eyes.
eye sight is one of the first things impacted by dissociation for us.
it happens a lot with paper work because that is extra stressful for us.
we did have a Little come close to the front and lose our ability to read, with good eye sight, for a while. not funny.
and Asti needs glasses for reading. she is one of the very few in the system who needs them.

When other (younger) ones are at the front and presented with paperwork, it is like it doesn't compute. I don't think it's an eyesight issue, though, for us. More of a cognition thing. So maybe not what you're talking about at all...

Thanks for the replies everyone. It didn't feel like a little was fronting or close, so I think it's more a case of mild dissociation with the stress? It's worrisome if there's a lot of paperwork go deal with in a stressful situation.

Maybe the inner world should be open, being very specific helps. I want to comprehend in the amount of stress that is needed, so act like it is stress on a free day to mentally practice it. Possibly dsyslexic and kid that has reading issue is near front possibly without even knowing it.

I have sometimes problems with understanding what I see. There's nothing wrong with my eyes, but I just can't understand what it is that I see. It's not just with reading, if it's bad, I can't move, since not being able to tell the difference between floor and walls. In familiar place I may be able to function, because I can intellectually think and memorize what the things around me must be, but in a strange place I need just to wait it to go over.
I do not feel stress when it starts, but it's annoying, so I get stressed out because of it when it's on.

my eyesight is horrible and I can barely make eye contact or have my eyes focused if I'm completely disassociated or I'm stacked the wrong way. So what could be going on with you is you're stressed out so maybe you could be stacked the wrong way ...positiones the wrong way with all your alts or just play more stress equals disassociation and that really messes up your vision.
Thats my theory with myself anyways lok

Yes, this happens to us, too!
For me, dissociation is probably what causes it. It's a form of disconnecting from the senses.
Sometimes when I dissociate I also can't register what people say.

stress can affect blood pressure - which can affect eyesight.
I know that I have both problems. vision changes when I phase. not all of us need glasses. some us myopic as all hell.
but also sometimes I don't understand. and like I will know that normally I am smart and understand but sometimes it's just harder and I feel like Charlie from flowers for algernon.
