Artist Kim Noble

Is anyone familiar with her work? She is an artist with DID and many of her alters paint or create art.

There's also a video of her and some of the art

I want to dig out my art materials again! I'm so inspired.

I just heard about her the other day. We follow the ISSTD on twitter and they mentioned her, so I looked up some of her work. I thought it was interesting how she had separate 'galleries' for different parts.

We did a lot of painting several years ago, long before I came along, and I've found sketchbooks with lots of drawings and stuff. We also used to be really into photography. I don't know if it was our previous host who was into art herself, or if she was unknowingly letting another part take over to do these things.

I feel slightly jealous. Out of our system only Akane and I can do the art stuff, which when you're studying to be a professional animator can be difficult when an alter needs to do work but doesn't know how haha! (one time I switched with Neko mid class and Neko just turned to our friend who knows about us and basically went "Yea I don't know what to do for the rest of class").
Good on them though, their art is really nice! And the fact that they can all contribute to their art is amazing!

Am I the only one who felt like they seem a little... stuck... in their therapy process?

4 of us are writing. 4 of us are painting. it is absolutely possible to be more integrated and not lose any of that. she seemed to treat the trauma pitctures like its none of her business.
somehow we can't see her as a role model.

Yes, I agree. Although in a short documentary (by Vice) their daughter mentioned that it was great progress to even have all parts show their artwork in the same room at an exhibition, so it's possible that they've already made tremendous progress albeit perhaps from a different starting point.

I don't think I see them as a role model, but certainly as an interesting and seemingly genuinely nice person. I like how they do art as a way to heal, and I think it's cool art. That is inspirational and touching.

It made me realize that perhaps I'm not as segregated or far from integration as I thought, because we don't have extremely different styles, and sometimes even draw or paint together.

I don't see her as a role model. But it did inspire me to do some art.
