More than one diagnosis...DID + something else?

Postby kittenspuppies » Fri Feb 16, 2018 12:57 am

I also have ADHD, learning disabilities and probable epilepsy

Most members of my family have the ADHD diagnosis as well.

Does your other diagnosis affect you as much as the DID? Would the DID be easier to deal with if the other diagnosis was better managed?

I just know that life is usually quite complex and that a diagnosis can be made more difficult by other factors.

MDD, GAD, and PTSD. We don't consider being multiple a disorder. (Your Mileage May Vary.)

The three other diagnosed conditions each make it more difficult to live with the others.

MDs
Body cis ♀ (1962). Realized 1996 that we're multiple. System of 47, all cis: 42 ♀, 5 ♂; 17 littles (0-7+), 9 middles (8-11+), 14 teens (12-17+), 5 bigs (18+), + formless yin/yang.

Dyslexia (very heavy), anxiety, clinical depression are all confirmed. Some others that are a possibility are bipolar and mild PTSD but I still need to see someone about those.

As far as if I didn't have these, I can't really even imagine what it'd be like to have DID but not the others, but not having the dyslexia would be nice because it feeds into the other two.

Our previous host was diagnosed major depressive disorder, then 'upgraded' to bipolar. She didn't know about / was in denial about DID though.

And our last big depressive period ended almost 5 years ago. We haven't really had any 'overlap' between dealing with DID and dealing with other psychological stuff. (touch wood lol.)

I can't really imagine having to deal with depression and DID at the same time. I think that would be really hard and sucky.
