Hi,

We have a couple of suicidal Littles (but mostly Teens) and it's usually they just can't go though something again. Not ever. And they don't trust anybody to help them so they are stuck with just trying not to be here when the bad thing happens.

When they say 'be yourself',
which one do they mean?

we have a suicidal little, Ophelia, who is stuck in her past trauma, mistrusts all adults, and feels there is nowhere to turn to to help. We have given her (well, Pixie has) Duffy to cuddle and tried to tell her that Duffy will always be there for her, that he loves her and is from Walt Disney World. This is a genuine challenge; communicating with an alter stuck in the past whose mistrust of adults borders on something akin to hatred. She has allowed Pixie to hug her and hold her hand and Pixie has done her best to tell her it is OK to cry anytime she needs to. Ophelia clearly has a long way to go.
