Eventually we managed to settle down enough to walk home. The Ativan didn't kick in till we'd got home so we ended up having a nap while cuddling Duffy. We may have cried ourselves to sleep.
Then... we had an episode early this morning. This time we had Duffy and curled up with him for a bit. We keep crying and are not sure why, though it has been suggested our newest alter, who is pre-verbal, and from a period of severe neglect, is broadcasting her pain to everyone, which could well be true. we wrote a 2000 word blog entry about memory and anxiety too. Writing for us is, for the most part, cathartic, although we also had to stop writing about theories of dissociation as writing about early childhood, even in the abstract, was becoming triggering.

Thank you, everyone, for your concern. We usually do have Duffy with us and take him most places but now and again we forget him (like we did today. crap). We heard back from our friend, when we were napping at 22h45 and so missed the call. The weather here is Arctic. It is -20C with a windchill of -31C. Not beach weather at all. We bundled up in our parka and gloves to make it to the coffee shop.
