Being Disabled (a Poem)

Postby fiveheroes » Wed Jan 03, 2018 5:35 am

Being Disabled
(from my point of view as being an inside 17 yr old self)

I always thought we were so stable
working 40 hours a week
when we were at our peak
no one saw us as weak
but now the tide has shifted
we're no longer gifted (as in being able to function well enough to work)
somehow we were able to be a pediatric nurse for 33 years
This is not a put down for anyone else
it's just the expectations I have for myself
navigating through the day
can take us a million miles away
Far from a centered place
I really know by now it's no race
but sometimes I wonder
when will all of this get better?
will it ever get better?
some days are just better than others
maybe this is just an "other"

At our intro, I sometimes like the idea of living out the dream the journey isn't that bad when you have been successful. It is an easier pill to swallow it will allow you take littles on vacation be wild if was mostly loyal. How else are you going to figure out what held you along the way not really understanding what you are to your awareness the people that have held you down. It usual isn't a therapist to alters journey it is needed with other people. I enjoy it, I call it semi retired time to be at home have influence finish a different career later in life, slow down and speed up when you find out it wasn't a bad idea of how to survivor towards the actual heal aspects of the journey. What if integration wasn't for you what can you do for rehabilitation.
