I'm curious whether others here have illnesses, chronic or not, that they deal with on top of DID. We're learning so much about how physical conditions affect us mentally-- inflammation, for example, or infection. I know some of mine are making my mental illness worse.
Lyme disease (30+ years) and Lyme encephalopathy
Hashimoto's thyroiditis
Adrenal burnout
Ehlers-Danlos
Epstein-Barr
Severe sleep apnea (leading to tinnitus, tooth-grinding and lockjaw)
Chronic low oxygen levels (as low as 80% in daytime)
And ... the headaches and dizziness I've heard so many here have ... sometimes when they come on I have trouble reading, speaking, writing, driving, etc

I think it is very important to understand what is a symptom of a chronic illness versus one that is the result of trauma.... And yes, a chronic illness can make everything else seem worse.
I do have some challenges but since I have always had most of them, it feels "normal" for me (if that makes sense):
Probably epilepsy since childhood
ADHD
Learning disabilities: auditory processing, visual processing
Poor memory (verified with neuropsych testing)
Ehlers-Danlos
Osteoarthritis (ow! - annoying)
Sleep-apnea
But - all in all- I think I am doing pretty well. It could certainly be a lot worse.
